A multimodal bus and rail interchange connecting the southern rail line to the Auckland Airport corridor, built over a live railway station.

Puhinui was rebuilt as a bus and rail interchange serving the airport corridor, with a new platform and canopy, an elevated concourse, lifts and escalators, plus bus facilities on both sides. Construction ran from late 2019 to July 2021 over an operating station and railway.
I worked on it through 2020 as a structural site engineer for McConnell Dowell, on the contractor side. Building over a live railway means almost every lift, pour and access is planned around possessions and permits.
