You’ve won the job or you’re bidding for it. You need a named Engineer’s Representative or contract administrator. A lot of my work comes this way.
| Axell Consultants | SH29 Ōmanawa Bridge Replacement for NZTA, $42.3M, NZS 3910:2023. Engineer’s Representative and Assistant Contract Administrator |
| Thalos | Papakāinga development in Ōpōtiki. Engineer’s Representative |
| Tonic Consulting | Oceanbeach intersection and Welcome Bay roundabout for Tauranga City Council, 2024. Engineer’s Representative on both, running at the same time |
On an NZTA professional services tender the named people carry a lot of the score. Key subconsultants are asked for the same evidence as the lead. I can give you a CV and project sheets in whatever format your tender needs, covering the relevant skills, experience and track record, with referees.
Most useful where the contract needs someone who can carry the time and money side properly, the variations, extension of time claims, payment claims and cost fluctuation, alongside the day to day Engineer’s Representative work. On SH29 that has meant the float treatment memo the contract uses, the Schedule 17 method and decision papers on the settlement period and a road closure, as well as the reporting and the risk process.
Also where the job needs someone who can read a technical submission and test it. My background includes contractor side site engineering and structural design verification, so a contractor’s independent report or a design change gets checked against the contract and the site, not just passed on.
I’m a sole practitioner, so capacity is limited and I’ll be straight about it. Tell me the start date and the time commitment and I’ll tell you on the first call whether I can do it properly.
Get in touch early, even at tender stage.
